Level and Kind of Work:
A Student Services and Off-Campus Education Coach’s role is to work with students, parents, school staff and community stakeholders to provide career counselling (course selection), post-secondary navigation and application support, supervise and coordinate distance education/outreach course completion as well as supervise off-campus education (Work Experience, RAP), including workplace inspections in schools where these tasks have not been assigned to a teacher. They will establish, seek out, and work in partnerships with students, parents, and community stakeholders to provide students with opportunities to support high school completion and successful transition to post-secondary education. An important role of this position is helping students and parents successfully navigate key transition periods, such as elementary-junior high, junior high-senior high and senior high-post-secondary. It may involve assisting with supervision, communication, coordination of services, and the delivery of universal and targeted supports. Additionally, this person would be responsible for duties relating to the library such as cataloguing, sign- outs, returns, and displays for audio- visual and print materials.
Desired Education and Experience:
High School Diploma is required
As travel is required, a valid Driver’s License, satisfactory Driver’s abstract, and vehicle is required- equivalencies will be considered
Completion of Post-Secondary Diploma, Certificate or Degree; or equivalency is preferred
Standard First Aid Certificate is preferred
Training in Occupational Health and Safety is preferred.
Related training or experience with children at- risk is an asset
