Reporting to the Vice President, People & Culture, the Director, Learning & Culture will lead the design and implementation of United Way Greater Toronto’s (UWGT’s) organizational effectiveness and change management programs related to culture and employee engagement.
What you’ll do:
Oversee the development of programs aimed at fostering a high-performance culture that reflects UWGT’s values and commitment to community
Support in developing and implementing change management initiatives related to the annual business plan
Develop strategies to reflect UWGT’s culture and brand in the life cycle of the employee experience, contributing to the design of related programs such as talent acquisition, onboarding, recognition and rewards, and performance management
Develop and implement a comprehensive and integrated professional development program, including focused initiatives to embed equity practices and build equity mindedness, in supporting individual and organizational learning
Create and track metrics for People & Culture strategies to measure return on investment, and ensure programs meet stated goals and support UWGT’s business and strategic plan
Lead the internal communications function, liaising with other departments on content, developing vehicles, and optimizing available technology
Contribute to the organizational equity and Indigenous collaboration frameworks by leading related learning initiatives and applying anti-oppression and anti-racism lens to all programs related to the employee experience
Represent the People & Culture department in cross-functional teams or employee resource groups aimed at addressing business strategies on improving the employee experience
Provide mentoring and coaching for one direct report
What you’ll need to be successful:
5-10 years experience in organizational development, professional development, and/or employee engagement program design
Expertise in professional development program design and delivery
Strong knowledge of diversity, inclusion, and equity within an organizational context including an understanding of Indigenous sovereignty
Strong capabilities in change management and communications planning and execution
Superior program and partnership development and project management skills
Excellent people manager with proven experience in motivating, mentoring and coaching
Highly developed analytical skills with ability to use expert level judgment for strategic thinking
Strong problem-solving skills with proven success at identifying and resolving issues
Ability to influence, negotiate and manage relationships which have long-term implications for the organization
Ability to coordinate long-range, operational plans for multiple departments
Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and constituent service skills including the ability to work respectfully and inclusively with diverse employee and volunteer groups
Excellent presentation skills (both written and verbal)
University degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Experience in the not-for-profit sector is an asset
