Description
This is a permanent, part-time position based on 15 hours per week. The work schedule is determined in consultation with your supervisor and may vary according to requirements of responsibility. Applicable shifts include a ½ hour unpaid meal break. The operational hours of this facility are 24/7.
Shifts: Saturday to Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This is a Unionized position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The successful candidate will work within the mandate and mission of The Salvation Army.
- Maintain confidentiality, consistently demonstrate respectful behaviour to all personnel
- Changing/making dormitory beds; cleaning/disinfecting dormitories and washrooms; general cleaning; mopping hallways daily; laundry as needed
- Perform other position-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Preference toward formal training and/or life-related experience in the field of janitorial service
- Possess knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and cleaning materials
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to use sound judgment
- Possess a current First Aid/CPR and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certificates or ability to obtain same
- Ability to lift/carry loads up to 40 lbs
- Provide an original copy of a Background Check with judicial sector screening
- May require screening through The Salvation Army Abuse Registry
- Support for and an understanding of the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada
