The Opportunity

Cumulative Impacts and Science Branch of the Ministry of Environment is seeking an experienced leader with excellent innovation skills for the position of Manager, Analysis. Reporting to the Director, and as a member of the Branch’s management team, this position is responsible for:

Managing a team of specialists in implementing quantitative and qualitative analyses of cumulative effects, climate resilience, and risk;

Providing leadership in innovative analytical approaches, and integrating scientific and technical results into final products;

Reporting on initiatives such as the Climate Resilience Measurement Framework;

Communicating with a broad range of internal and external clients and stakeholders;

Providing strategic and operational management to the Cumulative Impacts and Science Branch; and

Leading and mentoring a diverse team.

Typically, this role requires a degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline, combined with significant management and leadership experience. The knowledge, skills and experience required to be successful in this position would be obtained through the following:

Proven experience as a senior level leader with supervisory responsibilities;

Current knowledge of principles, applications, and analysis of cumulative effects, climate change and climate resilience, and risk assessment;

Awareness of public policy context for land management in Saskatchewan;

Demonstrated ability in change management, project management, strategic initiatives, and program delivery;

Communication skills (verbal and written formats) to various audiences (technical, operational, community, and senior leadership); and

Managing fiscal and human resources.

This position is located in Regina. This position requires travel including staying overnight in locations away from home. The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel, at times to remote locations, and be in possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
