Each day, more than 1,000 people work with the YMCAs of Québec network, providing a variety of services that create positive change in people’s lives.
Reporting to the executive director health, fitness and Aquatics activities the successful candidate will manage, plan and develop all operations in the centre’s Health, Fitness, Aquatics, Sales, Member Services and Administrative sectors. S/he will mobilize the team of employees and volunteers, ensure the sound management of the centre’s finances and inspire service excellence to all members and participants. The centre’s management is responsible for striking a balance between local needs and the programs and services offered to the community working closely with the center’s partner, the Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough.
What challenges are we offering?
Ensure the centre responds to the needs, challenges and issues of the community it serves.
Manage operations in the Health, Fitness, Aquatics, Member Services, Sales/Retention and Administrative sectors.
Identify business opportunities, develop and maintain credible and harmonious partnerships with all stakeholders and current and prospective clients in a competitive environment.
Maintain the YMCAs of Québec’s quality standards.
Establish and manage the centre’s $5 million operational budget, ensure budget follow-ups and forecasts.
Build, develop, manage and coach a performing and engaged team (150 employees and 100 volunteers) in the Health, Fitness, Aquatics, Member Services, and Sales and Administrative sectors.
Establish effective and collaborative ties with all child, youth and family programs and services operating within the centre and the borough.
Serve as official representative of the YMCA and enhance the centre’s presence within the community and with key stakeholders.
Plan, manage, support and coordinate the annual campaigns.
Oversee the implementation and functioning of the centre’s Local Advisory Committee.
Ensure the centre is a welcoming place for employees, volunteers, members and the entire community.
Safeguard the centre’s interests within an organizational perspective.
Adhere to the YMCA’s Child Protection Policies and Procedures.

Who we are looking for?
To accomplish their mission, the Director must:
Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to the position.
Must have 7 to 10 years of managerial experience in a similar environment.
Ability to build, manage, train and coach multidisciplinary teams.
Very strong knowledge in the areas of customer service and human resources.
Knowledge and experience in the areas of health and fitness
Excellent grasp of operational risk management concepts and practices.
Ability to plan and manage large operational budgets.
Sound judgement and decision-making skills.
Ability to develop, nurture and maintain lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge and experience in the areas of health and fitness (an asset).
Fluent in French and English (spoken and written).
Have no criminal record in connection with employment.
