Duties to commence September 1, 2021 with an end date of August 2024 (Three-Year Term)
Duties:
Providing system level Coordination in the area of Special Education
Acting as an expert resource to school staff, parents and the community
Providing expertise in programming for students with special needs
Leading the review, development and implementation of current and identified special education programs
and services
Leading the planning and implementation of initiatives to support the delivery of special
education programs and services
Coordinating the ongoing review and development of IEP practices
Coordinating the SEA and SIP claims processes
Assisting in the development of the Board’s Special Education Plan
Collaborating, reporting, cooperating and partnering with other educational authorities and community
agencies in response to program and service delivery needs
Representing the Board on various community committees relating to special education
Qualifications:
Teacher in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers.
Specialist in Special Education.
Models research-based instructional practices.
Qualifications in Intermediate (preferred).
Demonstrated commitment and use of Global Competencies learning practices.
Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with students, staff and public.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Demonstrated commitment to Catholic education.
