Overview:
The Education and Prevention Lead is responsible for the comprehensive planning and delivery of education programs related to cancer prevention and cancer screening. This includes development and oversight of education and prevention activities, including resources, CME and training, presentations and outreach, community engagement, and promotion and communications. These strategies must be comprehensive and province-wide and address the combined and unique requirements of CCMB’s Prevention & Screening department, including the three population-based screening programs: BreastCheck, CervixCheck, and ColonCheck.
Qualifications:Required:
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (public health, education, adult education, program management, health care, etc.). An equivalent combination of education and experience would be considered
At least 5 years of experience in health education or adult education, or program management or program planning and development
At least 5 years of experience supervising staff
At least 3 years of experience collaborating or building consensus with a variety of stakeholders and partners
At least 2 years of experience in education or training
Excellent communication skills
Experience working with the public or healthcare providers
Ability to work independently, with minimal direction, and take initiative in identifying opportunities
Satisfactory employment record
Able to legally work in Canada
Preferred:
Masters’ degree in a related disciplined
Knowledge of cancer screening, cancer prevention, public/population health, epidemiology, and community engagement
Experience working with under-served populations and in community development
Experience synthesizing public health and prevention science
Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating resources and communication plans/materials for lay and professional audiences
Experience managinga projects
Presentation and public speaking skills
Bilingual (French/English)
Asset:
Experience working in a healthcare environment
Experience managing a budget
Experience with program evaluating and monitoring and/or quality assurance
Working knowledge of desktop publishing programs (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Photoshop) and MS Office applications
Salary: Non-Union (compensation based on qualifications)
