The Director, Accelerators will conduct planning, implementation and execution of Alberta Startup and Growth Accelerator program over the program period including monitoring accelerator programming and initiatives, impact management and measurement, stakeholder relationship development and marketing, and ensuring activities and reporting are compliant with Alberta Innovates corporate strategy, focus, policies and established business practices and standards.
Develop strong relationships and work closely with internal and external business stakeholders and vendors; analyze business requirements and make appropriate recommendations and decisions to support service delivery
Act as a resource to overcome challenges and barriers vendors may encounter as they work towards the agreed upon timelines, milestones and outcomes throughout the life-cycle of each activities
Maintain and enhance interactions with our program partners and stakeholders, including reporting on program activities and outcomes; act as a liaison and facilitator pre/during/ and post-accelerator cohort programs to create linkages and partnerships to achieve and maximize potential outcomes and impacts from our investments for the benefit of Albertans.
Develop tools and tactics for Accelerator portfolio evaluation and measurement by developing strategies and reporting tools for implementation across the program portfolio.
Work closely with Alberta Innovates team and AI Communications colleagues to communicate the value and impacts of our investments internally and externally to AI
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Science
MBA or Master’s degree in a business related program preferred
8 years of experience in a research and innovation environment
5+ years of experience in Business Analysis and/or Innovation system service provider Program Management considered an asset
10+ years of experience in research and innovation environment preferred
Strong knowledge of tech business startup and scaleup processes and techniques
Strong understanding of accelerator operations
Experience delivering, monitoring, and reporting on Acceleration programs considered an asset
Ability to developing and maintaining client and partner relationships (internal and external stakeholders)
Ability to define business requirements, identify functional specifications and best practice standards
Ability to create and implement reporting and metrics systems
Ability to conduct meetings with various groups and elicit and collect feedback
Exceptional verbal, written, and listening skills to convey concepts and information
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to adapt to change and work in a team environment
Analytical and business development skills
Relationship management skills incorporating negotiation techniques
