Regional Director – Study Management
Purpose:
As part of Worley’s MMM Technology and Expert Solutions (TES) team you will be operating as a regional leader for our Studies Management Team. With you as a leader, these teams focus on delivering value enhancing solutions to Worley MMM Customers through early phase project development scopes.
Through direction, influence, and coaching you will lead and lift our MMM study management capability (skills, processes and quality) to a world’s best standard helping us to win and deliver the MMM strategic studies that lead our pull through growth strategy.
Responsibilities:
Establish, maintain and lead a regional study management community of practice;
Establish and execute business tactics aligned to deliver the MMM strategy
Collaborate with other TES Leaders to support/improve the delivery of studies and capability growth.
Lead the senior TES Study Managers in each region who are themselves leading consulting, concept/select, FEL1, FEL2, FEL3 work engagements.
Maintain and grow a network of project development executives with the MMM sector
Lead and mentor the senior TES Study Managers in supporting Worley’s business development activities, achieving quality in study execution activities, with the outcome of increasing our successful pull through from early stage projects into later stage project execution;
Generate execution and resourcing plans for study proposals
Ultimately Accountable and collaboratively Responsible for the ongoing development and management of the best practice study management processes in Worley MMM sector;
Review and provide quality input to study deliverables produced by your teams;
Delivers senior study management for key projects;
Collaborates and builds a Worley community of practice for world best practice in study management with peers across all sectors.
Contribute and make recommendations to the evolution the MMM Sector Strategy
Contribute to thought leadership in the MMM sector.
Provide execution governance for complex studies.
What you will bring
Technical and Industry Experience:
Established Leader – team management with a history of success in business improvement and team development
Industry Recognition – an established network of MMM customer relationships and market insights which lead to the development of business growth tactics
Highly Qualified Study Manager – MMM and resource sector experience preferred experience in a broad spectrum of front-end activities including technology selection, PFS, FS, due diligence, independent engineering scopes, and specific experience in JORC and NI 43-101 reporting requirements.
Proven Collaborator – supportive of regional leadership of teams, with the ability to drive success in matrix organization and through inspirational leadership in addition to direct line authority
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
Required:
Team leadership and management experience is developing a pipeline of high-quality study managers
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in direct Study Management.
Experience in Front End Studies & Advisory, Concept/Select, Consulting, PFS, FS, and NI 43-101 reporting
MMM background, preferably including experience in base metals, precious metals, and energy transition minerals.
Proven experience in process standardization for front-end studies
Direct experience in the application of multiple front-end project development and management approaches including MVCC, Lean, etc.
Proven aptitude for ‘front-end’ consulting and have a track record in using front-end work to apply innovation and technology
Significant proven ability to engage with clients and lead business development and proposals.
Excellent presentation skills (presentations of solutions / concepts / study recommendations etc.)
Excellent analytical and research skills
Excellent communication and listening skills will be required. Multiple language skill considered an asset
Value improvement focus, with demonstrable skills in value optimization and business case shaping
