Education Assistant – Part-time Position

0.4 FTE – 12 hours per week

Robina Baker Elementary School – Devon, AB

Duties:

• Implement teacher directed programming in a Pre-Kindergarten classroom with the support of an additional EA
• Work under the direction of the classroom teacher
• Work as a team member with teacher, other EAs, paraprofessionals, and administration
• Assist in implementing Individual Program Plans
• Provide support and assistance to students with medical challenges, speech, challenging behavior and/or

learning delays

• Under teacher guidance, implement academic and social emotional support for funded and non-funded students

on an individual, small or large group basis in an inclusive environment

• Willingness to work collaboratively with teacher to ensure consistent programming
• Other duties as assigned by school administration

Qualifications:

• Two or more years full-time attendance and successful completion of a Black Gold approved related program of

studies.

• Level 3 Alberta childcare certification is required
• Training and/or experience in working with Pre-K students is required
• Training and/or experience with complex needs children
• PBS and NVCI training is an asset
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
• Position commences August 27, 2021
• Hours of work: Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:25 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
• Salary and benefits according to C.U.P.E. Collective Agreement
• As a condition of employment, new employees are required to provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check and

Intervention Record Check at their own expense (prior to starting employment), as well as Level 3 Childcare

certificate.
