Educational Assistant
Rocky Lane School
Rocky Lane School is hiring two full-time Educational Assistants for the 2021-2022
school year.
The successful candidates will facilitate educational assistance programs to enhance
student success. The Educational Assistant will effectively support students within the
classroom, individually, and in small groups as directed by the Classroom Teacher and
Inclusive Education Coordinator. Each full-time position is 30 hours per week, (6
hours per day) starting on September 7, 2021.
Schools within the Fort Vermilion School Division follow an inclusive education model.
Students with diverse learning needs are included within the regular classroom setting
wherever possible. Targeted and specialized supports and services are provided as
required by individual students either within the regular classroom or in a specialized
setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Grade 12 Diploma
Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent
Experience working with students in a school setting
A genuine love for children with diverse learning needs
An ability to take direction and work independently
An ability to work collaboratively with school staff and parents in a confidential manner
Evidence of successfully passing the required Police Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)
and Alberta Children’s Services Intervention Record Check (IRC) if applicable.

Wage:
$20.54 – $30.14 per hour, depending upon qualifications and experience
Benefits will be provided after the mandatory 3-month probationary period is
successfully completed.
