Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, managing, maintaining and supporting our technology infrastructure, security and client support operations in order to meet the information technology needs of our users and the organization. The Manager will assist both the Leadership Team and Management Group in developing the strategic direction for technology services and will lead the implementation of various information technology projects.  The technology infrastructure includes desktops/laptops, servers, Cisco network switches, IP phones, portable tablets, as well as audio-visual equipment that services multiple large event spaces and a CATV broadcast feed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to IT users both online and on-site at various locations.  Install, configure and troubleshoot workstations and devices.
  • Manage and monitor both the IT network and telephone system, troubleshoot and liaise with external service providers when required.
  • Provide oversight to the day-to-day IT operation of our care centre via a direct report working out of 2 O’Connor Drive.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technology, hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades and plan and manage implementation.
  • Oversee IT system security and data management; including user accounts, passwords and file system security.  Establish and maintain all IT related policies and procedures.
  • Maintain technical documentation for hardware and licenses.
  • Develop and provide user training and education programs.
  • Prepare and monitor operating and capital budgets for IT.
  • Support the Manager of Communications in the upkeep of several websites, and oversee all domain and back-end hosting accounts.
  • Liaise with third party IT support solution to maintain uptime on core network infrastructure (servers, network switches, routers).
  • Liaise with third party technician to support bulk feed distribution systems for television at primary care centre location.

Qualifications and Personal Attributes:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in information technology or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of IT work experience including client-facing service and support.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Microsoft Exchange.
  • Knowledge of Sage accounting software, Shortel/Mitel telephone solutions, and website coding languages (Joomla and WordPress in particular) considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with Crestron systems and some experience with event-space audio systems.
  • A self-starter and team player with a “roll up your sleeves” attitude.
  • Well developed analytical, interpersonal, problem solving and project management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Able to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders from very basic to sophisticated IT users.
  • Willing to travel between work locations using a personal automobile.
  • Willing to commit to work in a faith-based environment, respecting the mission and values of the Sisters of St. Joseph.

Salary Range: $78,000 – $90,000
