You Can Look Forward To

This position is responsible for the strategic direction and operational execution of the Domestic and Duty-Free Brown-Forman (B-F) portfolio in Canada. The country manager will drive for results, seeking new distribution and channel opportunities for the business and championing new product ideas for the market. This role will develop a strategic B-F portfolio business plan for Canada that effectively allocates resources to grow our brands’ sales and equity while translating this plan into clear broker and channel sales goals and strategies to deliver on sales and profit targets. The country manager will also also be the “face and voice” of B-F to senior management at our liquor board partner level.

This is a General Management position responsible for all business and personnel aspects of the B-F operation in Canada, including marketing, sales, and finance, as well as external partner relationships such as broker/partnership management, trade industry participation, and government relations.

Develop and lead the setting of goals and strategic direction of the Brown-Forman business in Canada to deliver consistent, sustainable profit growth

Explore and define the overall Brown-Forman (B-F) RTM strategy for Canada, long-term and short-term. Lead, together with the Brown-Forman Canada leadership team the development of sales objectives and strategies across the portfolio, the liquor board, by sales channel, and by key account

Through the National Marketing Manager, partner with Global Brand team and jointly develop long-term brand strategies for B-F portfolio in Canada. Lead local marketing team to develop portfolio brand & country plans that fulfill global and regional brand objectives based on local market expertise

Build effective relationships on various levels in the industry, trade, government, and agency partnerships

Define and build the sales organization from a structure, capabilities, processes, and technology/tools point-of-view in order to develop a best-in-class CPG sales organization

Lead, inspire, motivate and develop the B-F Canada sales organization

Deliver the financial targets for Canada through best in class leadership of the BF, cross-functional, team and execution by our broker

Instill a culture of leadership, accountability, and responsibility, championing B-F’s Core Values and key policies, including Code of Conduct, Responsibility and Diversity & Inclusion

Bring a modern approach to analytics and data-driven, fact-based analysis and decision-making

Actively engage as a member of the East Region leadership team

What You Can Add to the Recipe

10+ years experience in FMCG industry in a Senior Sales/Marketing or General Management Role

University Degree in Business, Marketing, or related area

Strategic thinker with multi-brand portfolio experience

Proven leader with effective people management skills

Effective negotiating and influencing style

Good delegation skills

Able to work in matrixed system structures

Experience in the spirits or alcohol industry

Sales experience and knowledge of the Canadian off-trade universe and its dynamics

Experience in distribution models such as Third Party agreemen t s
