Job Description:
Position Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Supervisor – Stores, and the technical direction and guidance of the Storekeeper II, receives and issues material in accordance with established procedures, and will transfer between stores

Major Responsibilities:
Receives shipments and withdraws required material from stock, ensuring required commodity, size and quantity; posts issues and items received to stock record account in accordance with established procedures

Maintains an inventory control system, ensuring that inventory is at approved levels

Reconciles computerized data with physical inventory

Processes orders and related paperwork for other divisions

Loads and unloads materials and supplies

Conducts general caretaking duties within all areas of the section

Operates forklift and van

Performs such other related duties as may be assigned

Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
Must be a secondary school graduate or equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Skills & Abilities:
Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

Must be highly motivated and work well in a team environment

Must be able to work with minimal supervision

Ability to deal with the public in a courteous and tactful manner

Proficient in the use of computers and current related software

Must possess and maintain a valid Class “G” Ontario Drivers Licence, or equivalent

Must meet the definition of a competent driver as defined by the Corporation

Conditions of Employment:
Must remain a competent driver as defined by the Corporation

May be required to provide a successful driver’s abstract
