Overview of The Role

Saputo is looking for a lawyer with eight to ten years of mergers and acquisitions experience, strong technical skills and business instincts to join their corporate legal team. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Legal Affairs – Mergers and Acquisitions, Securities and Corporate, the lawyer will lead coordinated group work with other members of the corporate legal team and various departments of Saputo on national and international transactions.

How You Will Make Contributions That Matter:
Lead various transactional files from a legal perspective and support the business development group with acquisitions and divestitures and the treasury group with financing transactions;

Participate in the acquisition strategy;

Lead legal due diligence efforts;

Negotiate and prepare agreements and other documentation;

Participate in the implementation of transactions and the integration process;

Carry out other responsibilities related to this role or any emerging new priorities.

You Are Best Suited for The Role If You Have the Following Qualifications:

Eight to ten years of relevant transactional experience, acquired either in a national law firm or in a large acquisition-focused organization;

Strong analytical skills and good business judgment, with attention to detail;

Pragmatic, particularly with respect to determining the significance of legal risks and balancing legal and business necessities;

Efficient, proactive and organized, with the ability to work under pressure, manage priorities and handle multiple sensitive projects simultaneously;

Professional, with high standards of integrity and rigorous ethical principles;

Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and effectively within the legal team, and with other internal departments, international business partners and external counsel in English and French.
