The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer shall complete day-to-day aircraft maintenance assignments as provided by the Supervisor/Production Manager. All work shall be completed in accordance with Transport Canada and Rise Air standards.

Under the general direction of the Director of Flight Operations, this position is responsible for the coordination, direction, overall management and supervision of flight attendants. The flight attendant manager also performs flying assignments as required.

As an integral leader in our flight operations, your responsibilities will include:

Manage flying activities, ensuring the safe and effective usage of aircraft by meeting company and government regulations.

Management of any cabin safety-related safety management system (SMS) reports or responsibilities.

Maintain accurate and up to date training and related records including flight times and all flight attendant training.

Assist in coordination of all in-flight services and ensure customer service standards of the company are met.

Assume any responsibilities delegated by the Director of Flight Operations.

Coordinate all flight activities and flight attendant schedules with the dispatch,

Engage in positive relationships with external customers in relation to activities that may affect aircraft operations.

Provide leadership and direction through effective ongoing communication with management and conduct monthly department meetings with flight attendants.

Supervise the work of flight attendants and ensure that professional standards are always maintained. Engage in approved performance management processes, including disciplinary measures when required.

Train flight attendants in accordance with Transport Canada-approved standards, i.e., Flight Attendant Standard TP 12296.

Maintain an up-to-date library that contains applicable training and procedures manuals, safety feature cards, etc.

Ensure that all flight attendant training is current and approved.

Manage the day-to-day administrative tasks pertaining to scheduling, compensation, vacation, expenses and working conditions.

Maintain current knowledge of all Transport Canada rules and regulations and company policies and procedures.

Liaise with government, law enforcement, and security officials where required.

Qualifications of the Flight Attendant Manager include:
Knowledge and skills required for this position include high school diploma, three to five years’ experience in an airport environment, and a minimum three years’ progressive flight attendant experience. Post-secondary education is an asset. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Ability to pass the written and in-person testing as required by Transport Canada standards.

Ability to obtain flight attendant certification on company aircraft requiring flight attendants.

Proven relationship management skills and demonstrated ability to influence, collaborate and negotiate with both internal partners and external stakeholders to achieve results.

Professional judgement and well-defined conflict resolution skills in handling sensitive situations with tact, diplomacy, and high ethical standards.

Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

Sound problem solving, decision-making, analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.

Excellent people management skills with demonstrated ability to supervise, train and motivate.

Excellent time management skills with the ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize.
