About This Opportunity

Reporting to the Vice President, West Operating Unit, The General Manager role is based out of the Lower Mainland region with facilities in Richmond & Coquitlam, BC respectively and supports delivering on growth plans, operational strategies and total P&L management. Full accountability for field sales, distribution, warehousing, merchandising, equipment service, regulatory compliance, H&S, people & performance management, employee relations, product quality assurance, customer service and account management – locally, regionally and cross functional support on national accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 7 direct reports who manage a total team of 320 – hiring, development, succession planning, engagement, performance management and terminations
  • Foster a high performing, diverse and inclusive culture that delivers results through a growth & entrepreneurial mindset
  • Build a strong, diverse & inclusive safety culture with adherence to all H&S standards and processes
  • Responsible for Revenue, Gross profit, OPEX, EBITA
  • Develop high performing teams, supporting development programs, workforce planning & succession plans connecting talent across all levels of the organization
  • Develop and manage strong union relationship with consistency in LR practices to build a high performing, diverse and inclusive team
  • Lead communication within Market Unit for key messaging and change management plans
  • Establish diversity focused talent recruitment strategies & programs in partnership with Talent Acquisition team through partnerships with schools & not for profit organizations
  • Clearly executes POV on marketplace opportunities, barriers, and threats, leveraging cross-category insights to drive growth and defend the leading market share of the territory
  • Leverages robust market and competitive intelligence to build and deliver on organizational strategies and plans
  • Empowers functional leaders to import, deploy, and drive execution of critical tools, processes, and best practices that produce strong positive results in the market
  • Oversees and ensures implementation of consistent processes that enable organization effectiveness/efficiency and drives productivity
  • Responsibility for managing Sales, Warehouse & Distribution delivering results through full responsibility of the P&L for the territory (liaise with channel teams)
  • Responsible for facility compliance standards of the territory
  • Participate in capital investment proposal for the territory
  • Builds strong relationships with key customers that result in win-win solutions
  • Support & communicate the company’s commitment to active & healthy lifestyles, focus on sustainability platforms and embedding Coca-Cola in the community that we operate within

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education completed preferred in business related field
  • Minimum 5-7 years progressive Sales experience with previous operations management experience required
  • Experience managing multi-layered teams and multi-faceted business in unionized environment preferred
  • Strong business acumen & financial management experience – with a full understanding of P&L, budgets and operating costs
  • Demonstrated experience managing high performing teams, inclusive work environment and support workforce diversity
  • Proven Results driven through customer focus growing both customer and company revenue and profitability
  • Strong communication skills
  • Comfort and ability to thrive in a high-change, fasted paced environment
  • Proven collaboration skills with the ability to gain consensus through personal influence
  • Accomplished team-builder, skilled at inspiring, motivating and developing people
  • Ability to travel 25%
