The Branch Manager is accountable first and foremost for the safety of team members. They will ensure the integrity and profitability of Toromont’s Ottawa and Kingston branch operations. Additionally the Branch Manager will ensure sales and market share growth through the consistent development of superior customer service and nurtured trusted customer relationships.

  • Model the way for safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety policies, programs and initiatives.
  • Participate in the branch Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings
  • Align the team to achieve the overall goals of 22+U (and subsequent 3-year strategies) on an annual basis
  • Manage Equipment Sales Reps (MSR’s) and work with the Regional PSSM to achieve sales volume and margin goals in Equipment, Parts, and Service
  • Build strong, valuable, and lasting relationships with customers alongside the sales force
  • Provide personal coaching, and administrative and policy guidance to the Product Support Manager, Supervisors, and Sales Force
  • Engage the service operations to build and maintain morale and engagement
  • Review and monitor financial and operational reports related to parts, service, and equipment
  • Develop, implement and sustain improvements to branch operations
  • Motivate and develop followership from the entire branch team
  • Work closely and in collaboration with the other regional leaders in support of enterprise growth

Job Qualifications :

  • Post Secondary Education and 5-10 years in a leadership position focused on sales/operations
  • Highly safety conscious and 5+ years experience in the heavy equipment industry with a technical aptitude
  • Proven leadership, coaching, mentoring and people development skills
  • Strategic with excellent negotiation, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Mindset for continuous improvement and solid business acumen with the ability to oversee the financial operations of the branch
  • Customer centric with strong interpersonal skills and relationship building capacity at all levels
  • Superior planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple and often competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Computer literate with proficiencies with DBS, Excel and Word
  • Willing and able to travel with regular extended stays in support of the business needs and equal time between branches
  • A valid Driver’s Licence and clean Driver’s Abstract
