Cambrian College’s Admissions requires an Admissions Officer – International, on a one-year leave replacement basis, beginning July 2021. (This position will work remotely and will transition to on-campus once the College has transitioned to full on-campus operations.)
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and maintain processes in support of international admissions, including execution of admissions-related workflows, protocols, and processes for applicants as well as for third-party delivery partners.
Review and assess applicant program eligibility and make admissions decisions according to established criteria, as well as according to federal and provincial guidelines relating to visa applications.
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of applicant records; review error and exception reports for quality assurance and work to address gaps.
Act as a key point of contact for applicants.
Communicate with applicants regarding the status of their application, including providing details regarding outstanding requirements, testing, or other admission-related requirements.
Support the ongoing development, analysis, and dissemination of admissions models and metrics.
Qualifications
Required
A three-year postsecondary diploma or degree, preferably in Business Administration or Records Management. (A copy of educational documents must be submitted with application *** education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES or ICAS with their application)
Three years of demonstrated experience working with and maintaining records systems.
The ability to balance multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
Effective communication skills and good judgment and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer-service skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Commitment to working within a team environment.
Additional Asset/Preferred
Proficiency in a second language.
Experience in a postsecondary educational setting.
