Description
The Kitchen Helper assists the Cook in preparing meals.
HOURS:
- Flexibility in hours is expected & work may include evenings and weekends
- 8 weeks. 2 positions available
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Willingness to work within the mission, vision & values of The Salvation
- Use a client-centered approach by consistently demonstrating compassion, respect and
- Assist the cook in the preparation of specific food items and with the serving of
- Clean the kitchen and kitchen equipment as
- May help in washing dishes, saucepans, pots, and utensils used in the operation of the
- Follows work practices to ensure the efficient delivery of food
- Follows policy on the use of donated
- Perform other related duties as

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Certifications:
- No specific academic education required must be able to read and write
- Food Safe 1 basic required
- CPR, First Aid and Non-Violent Crisis Training an
Experience:
- Preference is given to those who have prior kitchen/restaurant helper experience
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Adaptability to change and frequent interruptions
- Ability to lift more than 30 pounds
- Agreeable to a flexible, non-routine schedule
PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:
- Current valid BC driver’s license and clean driving record an asset.
Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:
- Background check consent.
- A clear vulnerable sector screening.
- Clean drivers abstract.
- Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training.
