Reporting to the National Warehouse Director, the Warehouse Director, Ontario is responsible for ensuring efficiency, primarily at a major distribution centre in Etobicoke and at four other regional warehouses.

He/she will be a leader in workplace health and safety and will help maintain quality, health, environmental and food safety standards while also ensuring excellent customer service.

Specifically, and with a view to promoting the organization’s values and vision at all times, the Warehouse Director, Ontario:

Ensures the sound management of warehouse operations, monitoring and the ongoing improvement of performance indicators

Leads and guides their team to equip them to address the sector’s challenges, achieve efficiencies and exceed objectives

Manages human resources to help maintain harmonious and motivational working relations with employees

Directs and/or participates in various projects aimed at optimizing operations and suggests opportunities for continuous improvement for the warehouses and the organization as a whole

Serves as an occupational health and safety leader and ensures that the highest OHS standards are met

Helps maintain regulatory, quality, health, food safety and environmental requirements, while guaranteeing exceptional service to internal and external clients

Manages financial resources for all their sites (budgets, expenses, capitalization, etc.), analyzes and understands variances and identifies opportunities for optimization.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in operations and production management, industrial engineering, business administration or another relevant field

An MBA would be an asset

10 years’ relevant experience in distribution, including 3 to 5 years’ management experience in a unionized environment

Demonstrated expertise in implementing best practices and in change management
