Manager, EarlyON Child and Family Centres (Perm)

Summary of Duties:
➢ Plan, develop, implement, evaluate and monitor core program and service delivery requirements and ensure that

programming is responsive to community and family needs and delivered in accordance with Municipal and Provincial

requirements;

➢ Provide support and advice to Superintendents of Education, Principals, early years staff and other system

administrators to ensure consistency of program standards and procedures among all early years programs;

➢ Responsible for the overall management and direction of EarlyON staff including planning, staffing, recruitment,

professional development and review staff performance;;

➢ Develop, implement and monitor the budget to ensure programming requirements are being met in accordance with

Municipal and Provincial requirements; prepare required budget reports and related documents;

➢ Provide support in the development and implementation of policies and procedures;

➢ Develop responsive programming and provide mandated core services for children and their families (ages 0 to 6

years);

➢ Plan, organize and deliver workshops and professional development activities for staff;

➢ Liaise with and maintain intergovernmental relationships (e.g., EarlyON Network tables, Toronto Child and Family

Network, Early Years Community Advisory Committee, etc.);

➢ Represent TDSB’s EarlyON programs at various internal and external committees;

➢ Conduct site visits to programs, offer support, problem-solve issues and meet with principals and partner agencies to

set goals and direction, and resolve programming and delivery related issues;

➢ Prepare reports and proposals as required;

➢ Provide leadership in fostering equity and inclusiveness in the development and implementation of programs and

services;

➢ Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
➢ University degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with five years progressively responsible related

experience in early years programs or an equivalent combination of education and experience;

➢ In depth knowledge and understanding of Provincial and Municipal requirements for EarlyON programs;

➢ In depth knowledge of early childhood best practices and related current research;

➢ Thorough understanding of TDSB policies and procedures related to EarlyON programs;

➢ Experience in program design and working with funding partnerships;

➢ Demonstrated problem-solving, facilitation and conflict resolution skills;

➢ Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse school community environment;

➢ Proven ability in promoting equitable practices which value inclusiveness and diversity;

➢ Successful supervisory experience with strong leadership, mentoring and team building skills;

➢ Strong oral and written communication skills including presentation and report writing skills;

➢ Knowledge and understanding of related Board and departmental policies and procedures (e.g. purchasing, financial

management), collective agreement provisions and employment/labour legislation;

➢ Experience developing and managing a budget; and,

➢ Proficient skills and expertise in the use of computer technology and the use of a variety of software/applications (e.g.

Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Shared drives; video conferencing, etc.).

Special Requirements:
➢ Provision of own vehicle for Board Business.

➢ Requires regular travel across the TDSB

Location: 2 Trethewey Drive

Work Year: 12 month

Work Hours: 35 hours per week
