Description:
Aramark Canada is recruiting for an Operations Manager to support our campus at St. Thomas University, who will be reporting to the Food Service Director. The Operations Manager will oversee the dining hall food services with some catering responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
Responsible to supervisor our Front Line Associates in a unionized environment for any food service related activity

Responsible to manage schedules, vacations for a union staff

Supervise the production, assembly, presentation and service of foods in specific areas of the food service operations for eg: grill, deli, center stage, pizza & pizza according to Aramark guidelines

To interact with customers in dining areas during meal periods

To maintain high levels of cleanliness and safety

Oversee catering functions and special events for internal and external clients/ groups

Meet with clients to determine catering requirements, floor plans, rentals, staffing for events

Plan, direct and guide catering team to execute orders in a manner that meets/exceeds operational and financial targets, jumping in and working alongside front line staff when necessary

Work alongside Executive Chef to plan catering menu, and catered events menu

Lead by example in adhering to all Aramark policies and procedures, including Business Conduct, Food Safety, OH&S

Remain compliant with regards to all OH&S policies, procedures and required activities (i.e. updated safety boards, inventory on First Aid Kits, proper chemical handling, monthly safety talks etc.

Ensure all front line staff provide quality, courteous service to all customers

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Completion of Hospitality or Food and Beverage program considered an asset

2+ years’ experience in managing food service operations which could include Catering/Conference Services/Hospitality Management

2+ years’ experience in leadership role

Effective communication with the ability to multi-task

Based on the client needs, the position requires events that are run over the weekend and / or evening. Flexibility to cover such business needs is required

The position does require long periods of standing
