The Opportunity

IDRF’s Impact team is seeking a qualified individual to fill a newly created role of Jr. Impact & Stewardship Co-ordinator. The Jr. Impact & Stewardship co-ordinator will be a key member of the Impact team and will join a dedicated group of energetic professionals working to position IDRF for future growth and success as a leader in the international development and humanitarian space. Reporting to the Director, Giving & Impact— the Jr. Impact & Stewardship co-ordinator will ensure donor’s gift intentions and expectations are met with a focus on creating
a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship between the donor and IDRF.

The Jr. Impact & Stewardship Coordinator will plan, strategize, and execute all donor Stewardship activities for the organization. This will include communications, events, and recognition. This individual will need to be a strong communicator, well organized and a strategic thinker. This person will help to build on the culture of gratitude, inspiration and accountability that we have at IDRF. The role will proactively engage and create unique opportunities with various types of donors that include individuals, corporations, foundations, employees, alumni, etc., to foster a positive experience that will influence giving behaviour.

Responsibilities

Principle Giving & Stewardship
• Develop engaging and creative content to share project information and results with principle donors
• Plan and carry out a variety of stewardship initiatives
• Organize IDRF presence at select events including but not limited to promotion, signage, speaking and volunteer coordination
• Maintain and update records to track all third party and community events relevant to the Impact division
• Solicit financial donations from individuals through various prospecting campaigns
• Proactively solicit feedback from donors regarding their experience with IDRF
• Coordinate and host tours of IDRF, as requested
• Create reports, letters, and other materials to thank donors
• Fundraising and stewardship communications includes but is not limited to personal visits, correspondence, public speaking, and reporting for a range of audiences
• Ensure gift recognition and stewardship policies and procedures are followed to provide consistency and integrity
• Participate in direct mail and other communications activities with emphasis on quality control, timing and results
• Proactively use prospect identification, research and qualification processes to generate prospects and implement strategies to drive impact
• Develop strategies for virtual donor focused events, as well as digital engagement opportunities
• Support leadership team by preparing strategies and briefing notes for cultivation or solicitation meetings or events
• Ability to write letters and other documentation to support the closing of gifts Administration
• Provide support to the Impact & Stewardship Officer, as required
• Call activity reports, work plans, and a wide range of administrative activities including picking up financial donations
• Manage correspondence and inquiries from donors, ensuring timely and appropriate response
• Support with the maintenance and updating of the database regularly
• Attend monthly external meetings with IDRF promotional divisions as required
• Support with administrative tasks including data entry, pulling reports from the database
• Review and track funds and report on the use of gifts, as assigned
• Maintain confidential and privileged information with discretion
• Ensure timely and accurate maintenance of all gift, solicitation and donor information in Raiser’s Edge (CRM)
• Monitor external trends in mid-level giving, community giving, staff giving and legacy giving in the sector
• Prepare briefing notes, letters, proposals, stewardship reports, and other materials
• Create compelling donor proposals based on research and donors’ relationship with the organization

Qualifications

• A post-secondary degree or a combination of relevant comparable skills and experience
• Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Demonstrated ability to work with data to drive fundraising results
• Excellent interpersonal skills and very strong person to person relationship-building skills
• Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills
• Proven ability to exercise diplomacy and good judgment
• Ability to work independently using an above average level of initiative
• Proficient in the use of all corporate productivity tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook as well as Raiser’s Edge or other donor database management systems
• Understanding of inclusive fundraising and accessibility practices an asset
• Commitment to and understanding of the mission and values of IDRF
