        Responsibilities
        
                        Position Purpose Summary:
Boundless Vancouver Community Ministries organizes The Salvation Army Boundless Vancouver Christmas Toy Shop for children and families. The Christmas Volunteer & Donation Coordinator works with our Boundless Vancouver team to organize our volunteers and coordinate donations for The Christmas Toy Shop and the Christmas Luncheon.
BASIC FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Volunteer Coordination: 

Works in conjunction with and in support of The Christmas Toy Shop by identifying and promoting volunteer opportunities
Recruit, screen, register & orient appropriate volunteers to fill positions
Process necessary paperwork, including Criminal Record Checks and volunteer agreement packages
Deploy volunteers to positions relevant to their interests and skills
Help orientate and supervise volunteers while they are deployed to their positions
Keep thorough records of volunteer information and hours of service for statistical purposes

Donation Coordination: 

Work in conjunction with and in support of the Christmas campaigns, identifying the financial and in-kind donation needs for Christmas distribution
Solicit financial and in-kind donations and correspond in a timely manner with individuals and corporate donors in the community; organize toy drives with companies and organizations in the community
Coordinate drop-off and pick up schedule with donors and driver(s)
Help coordinate with divisional Public Relations team for the Toy Mountain event
Relay donated items to the appropriate personnel for proper storage and distribution
Keep thorough records of donor information and donated items/amounts & maintain a positive relationship with our donors
Perform other duties as assigned

 
                    
                

        Qualifications
        
                        Education/Certifications:

Post-secondary education and work experience in fund-raising, donor relations, public relations

Experience:

One (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience, including experience working in customer service related fields

Required Skills/Knowledge:

Excellent organizational skills
Superior relationship building skills and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels in a confident, collaborative and professional manner
Proven ability to multitask
Be able to work independently; demonstrated self-starter and team player
Excellent verbal communication skills in person and on the phone
Excellent written communication skills
Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Google Suite and Microsoft Office
Ability to learn new software quickly and teach others
Be able to lift up to 30 lbs

 
PREFERRED SKILLS/capabilities: 

Valid BC Driver’s License
Background check consent
A clear vulnerable sector screening
A clean drivers’ abstract
Completion of online Armatus Abuse Prevention Training and required Health and Safety training

Position Purpose Summary

Under the guidance of Food Services Manager, the driver is responsible for all pickups and deliveries as required for the centre.

Timings: Mon-Fri, 7AM to 3PM – Scheduling will be assigned based on management discretion.

Hours: 37.5 Hours Weekly

RESPONSABILITÉS PRINCIPALES :

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Basic Functions:

  • Is responsible for picking up all donations and making deliveries as required.
  • Sorts all pickups (donations) before stocking in coolers, refrigerators and/or freezers.
  • Upon receipt of any fresh bread contacts the kitchen staff first to see if they need it before freezing.
  • Rotates the donations in the cdasdoolers and refrigerators.
  • Ensures that coolers/refrigerators on the loading dock and in the kitchen are kept organized and clean.
  • Recycles any bakery products in coolers and freezers
  • Takes any spoiled or outdated products to the dumpster.
  • Maintains and cleans the loading docks and Centre vehicles
  • Ensures that vehicles are not below a quarter of (1/4) of a tank on fuel
  • May be required to pick up and deliver clients, guests, etc.

Other Duties

Under the general direction of the Manager: Food Services, and supervision of the cook, supports the kitchen staff by providing the following assistance:

 Sweeps and mops all floors in the kitchen and dining room areas.

  • Disposes of all kitchen garbage.
  • Provides additional support to the kitchen staff as required. (i.e. cleaning)
  • May perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 10 education is required.
  • Must have two (2) years or more similar driving experience.
  • Must have valid B.C. Class 5 driver’s license. A driver’s abstract will be required.
  • Must have a Foodsafe Level 1 certificate
  • Must be able to follow instructions both verbally and written.
  • Must work co-operatively with others and complete to a satisfactory level all assigned tasks.
  • Occupational First Aid/CPR certificate is a pre-requisite.
  • Must provide own safety work boots.
  • Must produce a copy of a negative result T.B. skin test.
  • Willing to wear specified dress code and identification.
  • Must understand and reflect the ARC philosophy Standards, and Tenets.
