We are hiring for an exciting 1 year opportunity for a Manager, Stewardship & Gift Documentation on our team!

Supporting the Stewardship and Advancement Services and Operations teams, the Manager, Stewardship & Gift Documentation is responsible for drafting, negotiating and finalizing all gift/revenue documentation and agreements between the University and private funders while ensuring adherence with all appropriate University policies and guidelines. The Manager will work collaboratively with advancement colleagues, faculties and units, and key campus partners to ensure donors intentions are accurately documented. The Manager will provide leadership to ensure donor funds are spent in accordance with their intent by monitoring and tracking commitments and accountabilities as noted in gift documentation. The successful candidate will also oversee, manage and implement the annual endowment reports for donors using a digital approach and supporting faculties and units with their reporting needs including recommending new processes.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study

Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience with managing contracts, accountability and agreements, preferably in fundraising or donor relations or a comparable role with transferable skills.

Skills:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Strong communication skills

Demonstrated strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Word and advanced Excel

Demonstrated ability to accurately query, report and analyze complex data sets

Comfortable with handling and auditing financial information

Keen attention-to-detail and accuracy

Ability to identify issues and provide guidance in resolving complex issues

Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders on multiple projects and deliver on project timelines and goals

High level of initiative, tact and diplomacy

Stakeholder-centred and goal-oriented with a reputation for integrity and transparency

Knowledge of:
University Advancement policies and procedures

McMaster University policies and guidelines

Experience working with Office 365 and document management software (e.g. DocuCapture)

Working knowledge of charitable giving and CRA rules, charitable trust law
