Senior Director, Insights & Analytics Centre of Excellence

1. Setup the overall service level agreement of the Center of Excellence in partnership with the other finance leaders

2. Lead & continuously improve the dashboard & Analytics group which role is to

  • Maintain, run, enhance transformed Dashboards/Reports (monthly P&L packages etc.) to support finance operations
  • Perform associated analysis/insights on transformed data sets/models
  • Maintain reporting standards & definitions
  • Enhance & evolve quality of commentary & insights

3. Lead & continuously improve the product management group “Front Office” which role is to

  • Act as the liaison between Finance, Technology & the dashboard and analytics group to manage & continuously improve product processes and enabling technologies
  • Manage workflow & operational processes
  • Monitor performance of models and application based on customer experience
  • Own the support of One Stream models and supporting analytical products
  • Communicate backlog of enhancements and ensure prioritization

4. Lead the Master Data management capacity for Walmart Canada which role is to

  • Execute data decisions and maintain FP&A data elements, hierarchies, dimensions, metrics and reference data. Resolve master data issues as they arise
  • Govern financial master data and metric definitions for financial reporting and planning models & analyze/communicate any change impacts
  • Partner with business data lead/owners on MDM transformation journeys & Ensure changes cascade to all downstream tools/systems

5. Lead the newly created Data Science capability in market which role is to

  • Owns the ongoing maintenance of data science models built during transformation
  • Refreshes data, adds/tweaks drivers and ensures models improve over time
  • Demonstrate the value created by applied predictive analytic models to relevant financial datasets

6. Recruit, coach and develop a talented team providing proactive mentoring. Also ensure building future succession within the team

7. Drive associate engagement by valuing associates, listening, and responding to concerns, recognizing, and rewarding accomplishments and providing opportunities for growth and development.

Position Summary…

“The Sr Director for Analytics and Insights is the leader of a Canadian finance shared service center of excellence that centralizes the transactional and reporting capabilities to provide ongoing support to our Finance teams. It also operationalizes capabilities transformed by the finance transformation programs.

The role is in close relationship with international finance, the technology department, the two commercial finance divisions as well as the corporate finance function.”
