What you will do
As the Director, Research and Analytics in the Communications Department, you will lead a team of analysts who conduct public opinion research, analytics, measurement and evaluation of the effectiveness of the Bank’s communications. You will provide leadership and manage activities that aim to build knowledge of the Bank’s audiences and support the evolution of the department`s communications practices. You will work closely with colleagues across the department to ensure an integrated approach in all research, analytics and measurement activities as well as the integration of learnings and insights into the department`s strategies and tactics.
In addition, you will lead the modernization of the department’s data management, governance and usage with a view to ensure the accuracy, quality and comprehensiveness of analyses, results and insights. You will also manage the department’s planning, reporting and budgeting processes and oversee the work to fulfill other departmental and corporate processes’ requirements.
What you will need to succeed
leadership experience in either communications, public opinion research or program measurement and evaluation
solid knowledge of communications measurement, program evaluation methodology, quantitative and qualitative research methods, data analysis, and web and social media analytics
ability to innovate, lead initiatives and work collaboratively with colleagues and external parties
excellent communication skills (including writing skills) and an ability to synthetize vast amount of complex information into clear messages
a highly organized and collaborative approach with a proactive attitude and a strong focus on quality and details
Nice-to-have
experience in, and knowledge of business planning and reporting
knowledge of data management and governance practices
experience in social marketing
Your education and experience
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., communications, social sciences, marketing, public administration, etc.), a minimum of 8 years of experience in communications research and measurement and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
What you need to know
Language requirement: English and French essential (bilingual) with a minimum starting level of functional (level 4) in second official language. Training may be provided to help reach the required level of fully functional (level 5) in second official language.
Priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents
Security level required: Reliability

Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $108,100 to $135,000 (job grade 19)
Depending on performance, you may be eligible for performance pay for successfully meeting (7 to 10% of your base salary) or for exceeding expectations (15% of your base salary). Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
