COORDINATOR, INTERNATIONAL STUDENT PROGRAMMING

(One-Year Contractual Position; Subject to Renewal)

DUTIES

The successful applicant will develop, implement and participate in departmental initiatives and programs that promote student engagement and success, with a particular focus on Grenfell’s growing international student population. As part of the Student Services team and with the direction of the Manager, Health and Diversity, the successful applicant will develop and implement a diverse range of programs and services that enhance the experience and retention of international students at Grenfell Campus; advise international students one-on-one and through group sessions on health plans and immigration matters (as applicable); support international students with their transition to campus and the community; participate in university-wide and campus- specific committees related to internationalization; facilitate campus-wide activities that promote diversity and inclusion; collaborate with community and government partners to offer immigration advising and international student support; and perform other related duties as required. Flexible work hours are required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (1-3 years) in a post-secondary, international student services environment, with first-hand knowledge of issues and concerns facing international students; graduation with an undergraduate degree with major course work in psychology, the social sciences, social work, education or a related field; or equivalent combination of experience and training. Ability to work effectively with diverse communities of students and promote inclusion. Strong inter-cultural communication skills and an ability to build relationships with individuals inside and outside the University are required. The ideal candidate will be organized and creative, be able to work effectively as part of a team and independently, and have the ability to communicate effectively to a diverse audience through various mediums. Preference will be given to applicants accredited as Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCIC) or Regulated International Student Immigration Advisors (RISIA).

SALARY $49,602 – $74,399 per annum (Management and Professional Scale)
