Director – Digital Delivery
We have an exciting opportunity for a customer obsessed, execution focused, digital first mindset individual to lead a team of Product Owners working in Agile to deliver on Manulife Bank’s strategic priorities and helping us achieve our digital customer leader ambition. In this role, you’ll participate in the planning and be responsible for execution and delivery of outcomes and key results for the Bank’s Agile digital delivery organization with a budget of >$20 million annual funding supporting product, technology and regulatory initiatives.

What type of work will I do?
Oversee all digital delivery activities to ensure efficient and high-quality delivery and supporting achievement of business outcomes and key results associated with the portfolio of initiatives
Lead a team of Product Owners and Agile squad members building strong teams and culture including mentorship and growth of Product Owner and human centred design capabilities
Work with Product Owners to effectively manage and prioritize backlogs of work within the squads
Collaborate with strategy, research and other stakeholders to build prototypes and proof of concepts
Own the delivery portfolio roadmap including business and technology initiatives as well as short and long-term view of all work (i.e. epics and features) to be delivered
Facilitate meetings with enablement services teams (risk, finance, treasury, compliance etc.) including stakeholders from change management, Agile Centre of Excellence, and HR to support the organization’s Agile transformation
Oversee a large annual initiative/digital transformation budget
Facilitate day-to-day cross squad / teams reviews and discussions to resolve delivery schedule and prioritization conflicts and profile portfolio impact analysis as appropriate to bank executive leadership team
Act as the escalation point for squad Product Owners and determine when to engage program leadership to resolve challenges
Accountable for identifying key risks and issues and help resolve these issues and blockers across key stakeholders within the Bank and across Canadian Segment as appropriate
Collaborate with other Canadian Segment delivery organization leads on cross Business Unit/functional initiatives as appropriate
Responsible for the increasing maturity and effectiveness of agile delivery, human-centred design and business practices within the delivery organization in collaboration with agile coaching support
Communicate regularly with stakeholders and senior management
What will be expected from Me?
Strong Experience with Agile methodologies, human-centred design, and Product Owner accountabilities in Agile delivery environments
A proven track record in digital product delivery and transformation with a focus on execution and measurement of key results
An understanding of technology and the software delivery lifecycle to help teams remove roadblocks
You have knowledge of retail banking products, competitive environment, emerging industry and digital trends, customer priorities and empathy for customer needs and pain points
You excel at leading, inspiring, coaching and mentoring multiple cross functional teams dedicated to digital transformation
Effective delegator capable of overseeing a complex portfolio of products and projects and providing strategic direction to product owners
Advanced written, verbal and presentation skills
Strong collaborator capable of building consensus in a matrix organization and effectively advocating with senior leadership to secure resources and support required to achieve objectives
