Masset Airport Manager
The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (Airport Executive), your primary function will be to manage all operational aspects of the airport and to deliver airport facilities that ensure exceptional safety, service and efficiency that cost effectively meets the needs of airport users. You will be expected to manage human resources – communicating priorities, motivating staff and creating an environment that promotes teamwork. Developing strategic objectives and long-term planning for the airport will also be a responsibility of the position as will applying for funding programs to support required development and growth of the airport terminal facilities, properties, and services. You will act as the primary liaison between Village of Masset and the Airport’s tenants to ensure exceptional customer service.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must be highly knowledgeable regarding all airport functions and licensing requirements including Transport Canada, Nav Canada, Environment Canada, and other regulatory requirements affecting airport and fueling operations.
Thus, you will have a proven aviation background and post secondary education supplemented by airport management training. An Airport Administration/Operations degree or equivalent of training and experience is preferred. Recent training in Safety Management Systems is desirable.

The Airport
The Masset Airport is certified and experiences a wide variety of traffic with a concentration of charter planes and helicopter traffic during the summer months for sport fishing lodge customers. Fueling operations are provided by the airport with sales in excess of a million liters per year. Total aircraft movements are in the range of 2300 per year with enplaning & deplaning revenue passengers of over 35,000 per year.
Year-round scheduled service to Vancouver is provided by Pacific Coastal Airlines.
Education : College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
