Job Description
Reporting to a nine (9) member board, the Executive Director (ED) holds overall responsibility for both the FSJ Curling Club and facility operations and organizational performance. The ED is responsible for financial performance and viability, budgeting and financial management; external relations; strategic planning; organizational development; board relations and governance; and staff leadership, management, and development.
The organization currently forecasts around $300 000 in revenue for the 2021-2022 fiscal year. The new ED will oversee the work of one (1) ice technician, and numerous bar and catering staff. Some work on evenings and weekends will be required.
Areas of Focus for the New Executive Director
Collaborate with stakeholders to improve the visibility and use of the facility spaces for recreation and event functions
Develop and expand the membership of the FSJ Curling Club, and promote and develop opportunities to experience the sport throughout the North Peace region
Work with stakeholders to rebuild a post-COVID calendar of events that honours and grows flagship experiences
Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy designed to diversify and increase unrestricted funding sources, leading to a sustainable balance of earned and contributed income
In partnership with board leadership, identify and recruit prospective board members who add skills, experience, and perspective, diversify the existing group of board members, and are eager and enthusiastic about stewarding the organizations’ vision
