Research Assistant II – Education & Evaluation – Centre for Faculty Development

The Research Assistant II supports the execution of an evaluative research study via project coordination, literature reviewing, data collection, and synthesis.

The Research Assistant II must be a reliable, self-motivated individual who is highly detail oriented and capable of collaborative teamwork on research and evaluation projects.

Note that this role is based primarily out of the St. Michael’s Hospital/Li Ka Shing site.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist Associate Director, Evaluation and Knowledge Mobilization and research team in the execution of a research project on the principles and sustainability of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion programs in health professions education;

General clerical duties including organizing and maintaining records and supporting ongoing communication with research collaborators, funders, and study participants;

Perform literature searches;

Screening and recruitment of participants for research/evaluation projects;

Collecting research or evaluative data via standardized questionnaires, interviews, and publicly available resources etc. using virtual tools (e.g., Zoom) and in-person media;

Support transcription and data management;

Administration of REB tools such as Letters of Information and Consent Form to study participants;

Educate participants on the use of data collection tools.

Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of undergraduate education in BA/BSc program with demonstrated experience working as a Research Assistant;

Capacity for meticulous record keeping;

Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills;

Experience working on evaluation research studies is an asset;

Training in education or educational psychology is an asset.
