Director of Care

The Director of Care is a part of the leadership team, accountable for integrating resident and family centered care within Oliver Lodge. This is achieved by ensuring that the needs of resident, family, and staff are met through education, quality improvement programming, budget planning, safety programming, monitoring communication processes through care conferences, and overseeing resident admissions and discharges. The Director of Care must have a theoretical framework along with work experience to lead and develop the most appropriate quality nursing and resident care services.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Nursing

Experience

Previous management experience is a must and experience within affiliate, or other long term care settings are necessary.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Advanced problem solving skills

Intermediate computer skills

Strong leadership and mentoring ability as well as experience in leading in a unionized environment.

Excellent communication skills; with the ability to work collaboratively with external agencies and unions.

Proven self-confident leader who is innovative and demonstrates strong human relations skills and the ability to work well within a team management structure.

Knowledgeable in SHA Policies and Procedures, including nursing policy and procedures.

Compensation is determined by the SAHO Out-of-Scope Terms & Conditions
