Kenora Airport Authority is a non-profit organization responsible for the safe operation of the Kenora International Airport. A volunteer board of directors guides the strategic vision of the airport, while the staff carry out the day to day operations.
The City of Kenora, located on the north shore of beautiful Lake of the Woods, is home to Kenora’s International Airport. Kenora is located approximately 2.5 hours from Winnipeg Manitoba and has a year-round population base of nearly 17,000 people climbing to over 30,000 residents in the summer months. Kenora is a highly desired place to live, offering a wonderful quality of life in an area with an abundance of natural beauty.
The Kenora Airport Authority (KAA) is completely responsible for the operation of the Kenora Airport. A new $5 Million dollar terminal was recently completed in 2018, offering spectacular facilities for customers and staff alike. The Kenora airport currently has year-round lease tenants, commercial scheduled service as well as significant private and charter activity.
The KAA has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional who can help successfully lead the Kenora Airport. The CEO/AE is accountable to the KAA Board of Directors. The individual is responsible to manage the administration and implementation of airport services, regulations and programs that ensures compliance under normal and emergency conditions, in a manner that is safe, efficient, secure and cost effective.
Qualifications
- Completion of a post-secondary program in business administration or Airport Management or equivalent combination of technical training and experience in airport administration & management.
- A minimum of 10 years management experience in Airport operations preferred.
- Accredited Airport Executive or working towards Airport Executive Accreditation.
- Have and maintain a valid Class “G” Driver’s License.
- Excellent leadership, business acumen, strategic and business planning, public relations, financial management, operations management, communication, and conflict resolution skills are required.
- Ability to work independently and to undertake a variety of tasks and perform them with a minimum of supervision.
- People and team development skills, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office, electronic data collection and communication systems.
- Ability to cope with stress levels associated with working in emergency and high security situations.
The CEO/AE position has a salary range of $65,000 – $95,000 depending on the candidate’s education and experience. Some relocation assistance will be available.
