Weekly Hours:
- On-call, Casual Basis.
The use of a personal vehicle is not required in the performance of duties. This position requires union membership
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains a log of when areas of the building are cleaned and noting maintenance issues. All maintenance issues are to be communicated to the Operations Manager by creating a service ticket through the established ticketing service.
- Sweeps and keeps clean the stairwells daily noting in log date and time of completion.
- Cleans and re-supplies all washrooms daily noting in log date and time of completion,
- Cleans Lounges, Recreation and Classrooms on all floors of the facility daily noting in log date and time of completion.
- Dry mop, wet mop or uses auto scrubber on hallways of the building daily noting in log date and time of completion
- Removes garbage from all areas of the building to the garbage bins.
- Clean cafeteria floor after each meal service during the shift.
- Washes, waxes, and buffs all hallways.
- Sprays buff rooms and dorms when needed.
- Replenishes cleaning supplies as needed.
- Assists the maintenance man when needed.
- Assists with laundry duties as required.
- Assists with custodial duties as required.
- Cleans all janitorial department equipment after use each day.
- May be assigned other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Certifications:
- No specific educational requirements.
- Occupational First Aid and Infectious Disease Control training are required within six months of starting position.
Experience:
- Six months of related Janitorial experience is required.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- Must understand and reflect the ARC Philosophy, Standards, and Tenets.
- Must be able to follow instructions, both verbal and written, work co-operatively with others, and complete to a satisfactory level all assigned tasks.
Other:
- Must provide own safety work boots.
- Must submit the result of a T.B. skin test.
