Description
Hours:
- Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm; however, may be required to work occasional evenings and weekends for events and speaking engagements
- During events, may be required to work a flexible schedule including afternoon (noon-8pm) shifts as well as a Tuesday through Saturday work week
- Temporary, Full-Time from September 26, 2021 – July 1, 2022 (covering maternity leave)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Targets, reaches out to, and develops relationships with new potential donors (individuals, businesses, organizations, etc) seeking to gain financial support for Gateway of Hope
- Builds the donor base through following up on initial contacts and general leads of various kinds, including reaching out to past event participants
- Cultivates relationships with current donors through visits and general correspondence, seeking to gain further commitment and increase their financial support of Gateway of Hope
- Develops newsletters, promotional materials, annual fundraising and other media and fundraising appeal related materials
- Develops the spring, fall and other general fundraising and letter campaigns in consultation with the Operations Manager and Executive Director
- Manages and updates the Gateway of Hope website
- Makes presentations to businesses, community groups, service clubs, schools, churches
- Maintains a year-round focus on the Gateway of Hope Christmas campaign; organizes and gives leadership to the Christmas campaign (letter appeal, kettle campaign, media releases, etc)
- Organizes and promotes all other Gateway of Hope fundraising events and fundraising focused projects
- Collaborates with the Gateway of Hope Volunteer Coordinator for Christmas Kettle and other fundraising event volunteer needs, develops and supervises a team of dedicated volunteers (regular volunteers and event volunteers)
- Manages and updates the Gateway of Hope website, using WordPress
- Maintains a focus on the Gateway of Hope fundraising campaigns, programs, initiatives, volunteers, and event through social media; Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Mail Chimp, Survey Monkey
- Communicates and promotes all other Gateway of Hope fundraising events and fundraising focused projects
- Collaborates with the Gateway of Hope Volunteer Coordinator for fundraising event volunteer needs
- Provides occasional backup to reception for breaks
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- At least two (2) years of prior related experience, including customer service, coordinating events, administrative assistance and database management experience
- At least one (1) years of community college, with specialized/relevant courses
- Motivated to meet and exceed fundraising goals, establish and maintain collaborative relationships with donors/sponsors and other stakeholders to meet business objectives
- Demonstrated initiative, creativity, flexibility, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
