Description
To give oversight to the Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Fundraising campaign by securing and supervising volunteers and organizing all kettle related activities.
DAYS and HOURS of work: November 1st to December 30th, 2021. (Temporary Contract): Monday to Saturday. 40 hours per week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The successful candidate must represent The Salvation Army in a professional manner
- Provide supervision of the day-to-day operation of the Christmas Kettle Campaign
- Develop Christmas campaign beyond its current scope
- Foster and maintain positive working relationships with kettle locations/store managers
- Recruit, train, supervise and work alongside volunteer kettle workers
- Schedule volunteers to ensure all kettle locations are covered daily and respond to emergency absences, etc., including recruitment of new volunteers
- Arrange delivery and pick-up of kettles to/from sites daily
- Ensure kettle locations are kept tidy and well-stocked with supplies
- Keep accurate records and update volunteer information
- Receive training and become proficient in using Kettle System software
- Assist in counting the kettle donations as required
- Complete post campaign responsibilities: retrieve all equipment/supplies from various kettle locations, prepare and send out thank you letters to various groups, prepare volunteer recognition
- Other Duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Certifications:
- High School graduate
Experience:
- Some previous fundraising experience would be beneficial
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- Understanding and support of the Mission of The Salvation Army
- Possess strong organizational skills
- Have proficient office and computer skills
- Be an enthusiastic team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, able to meet deadlines and deal with stressful situations
- Possess self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision
Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:
- Background check consent
- A clear vulnerable sector screening
- A clean drivers abstract
- Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training
- Provide RCMP Criminal Record Check
