Terms of employment / Hours:
- Contract Temporary Position from November 29th to December 24th, 2021.
- Up to Forty (40) hours per week Monday to Saturday.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Is able to work in adherence to The Salvation Army’s Christian Mission and Values.
- Awareness and compliance with CHILLIWACK Policies and Procedures.
- Help set up and establish Christmas Central
- Ability to complete and instruct all areas of the hamper application
- Work with Community Services intake workers
- Make sure supplies are in order for set up (tea, coffee, cookies, treats, sugar, milk)
- Responsible for open and closure of Christmas Central
- Fill in as Intake Worker/Hostess as needed
- Make sure Intake Worker/Hostess are available for their day (phone #’s available)
- Make sure enough applications are available daily (pick up at C&S)
- Return completed applications to Care & Share daily
- Capability to perform unscheduled work as required by the team
- This position may be required to provide direct supervision to volunteers in carrying out their

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Team oriented
- Good interpersonal, initiative and organizational skills
- Ability to relate to and engage marginalized people with a positive outcome perspective while remaining non-judgmental
- Good people skills
- To complete all required duties at the Christmas Central
- Must be pleasant, helpful and a worthy representative of The Salvation Army as she/he meets
and deals with the public - Adaptability and flexibility in accepting changes to routine
- Ability to deal with frequent interruptions while maintaining focus in completing all routine tasks
- She/he will be responsible to the C&FS Coordinator in matters of job performance, policy,
special requests, or other concerns that will arise.
