Description
The Frontline Worker provides professional care and support to clients at the Wilkinson Road Shelter.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Takes responsibility for routine intake processes and decisions, following standard procedures and directs clients to appropriate shelter services
- Records all information as per policy
- Liaises with referral sources and other external agencies as needed (for example: welfare, police, parole, urgent situations, medical facilities, etc.)
- Fosters positive relations with community social services agencies/resources
- Answer incoming inquiries and direct as needed
- Adhere to standards that are consistent with the values & philosophy of The Salvation Army and Peel Residential Services mission and values
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Certifications:
- Diploma/Degree in Social Science or equivalent education and experience
- Current Certification in First Aid/CPR
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- ·Crisis Intervention Training (CPI)
- Appropriate Immunization Measures] Suicide Prevention
- Health and Safety
- Customer Service Training
- Valid G Class Driver’s License
Successful candidate will be required to provide upon hiring:
- A clear vulnerable sector screening
- A clear driver’s abstract
- Participate in our online Armatus Abuse Training and Health and Safety training required upon hiring, as well as updated annually
