Description
To assist other staff in the day-to-day operations of assisting clients before they meet with the Family Services Workers.
HOURS:
- Part-Time 22.5 hours/week
- Contract 3 months
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greets clients as they come in and help put them at ease. Answer any questions as necessary
- Answer the phone- as necessary direct and transfer phone calls to the correct person
- Schedule client appointments
- Help input new clients into link2feed system
- Help in preparing the building for the day.
- As needed, obtain the client’s hamper from the storage room and bring it to the client.
- Drafts and prepares presentations, brochures, flyers, advertisements, invitations, certificates subject to supervisory approval.
- Opens and distribute incoming mail and processes outgoing mail which may be confidential; receives parcel(s) and distributes to the appropriate person(s).
- May order and purchase supplies as needed.
- Distributes schedules, letters in consultation with the co
- May prepare receipts/ invoices for the processing to the corps officers/community ministry director.
- May take the lead and/or assist in the planning and running of special events
- May be assigned special projects by corps officer
- Check staff fridge at the end of each week and clean it out
- Weekly do the towel and dishcloth laundry for volunteers/staff
- Assist in logging all samis numbers
- Help with logging volunteer hours
- Ensure morning/lunch and closing duties are performed daily.
- Other tasks as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Certifications:
- Minimum Grade 12 Education or Equivalent
- Microsoft Courses – Excel, Word, Outlook, Power-point, etc
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- A person with the Salvations Army’s mission at Heart
- Knowledge of TSA programs
- Administration Skills
- Organizational Skills
- Time Management Skills
Preferred Skills / Capabilities:
- Friendly and inviting personality
- Experience in multi-tasking
- Experience in working in a demanding and high-paced environment.
- Able to keep the confidence of clients
Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:
- Background check consent
- A clear vulnerable sector screening
- A clean drivers abstract
- Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training
