Description
Working with clients to find housing. In this role you will be responsible for admitting clients, intake, triage primary support, monitoring, referral, and clerical duties. Provide clients with encouragement and access to other services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitate intake process
- Assist with supervision of clients
- Provide ongoing daily support, assistance and encouragement to
- Perform all necessary clerical duties for client documentation, including Emergency housing Services Forms, computer entries, Logbook entries, & other required
- Data entry of all required data fields in
- Make necessary
- Ensure that all telephone calls are recorded according to policy
- Monitor kitchen during all meals
- Provide support, crisis intervention and conflict resolution as required
- Arrange for wake-up calls for Clients who request same
- Make regular rounds throughout building; including walking through the dormitory and bathrooms
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Certifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Social Services Field
Experience:
- Previous experience with people experiencing homelessness would be an asset
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- Must have thorough knowledge and understanding of homlessness issues
- Knowledge and understanding of Mental Health/Addictions
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of and a commitment to anti-racism, anti-oppression and equity
- Problem-solving skills essential
- The responsibilities associated with this position demand a high degree of confidentiality
- Excellent oral, written communication and computer skills (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Database)
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Must have excellent interpersonal/time management skills
- Good knowledge of community resources
- Valid Driver’s License is an asset
Successful candidate will be required to provide upon hiring:
- A clear vulnerable sector screening
- A clean drivers abstract
- Participate in our online Armatus Abuse Training and Health and Safety training required upon hiring, as well as updated annually
HOURS: 42 hours per week. 12 hours night shifts (7:00p.m. – 7:00a.m.)
