Description
The Kettle Campaign Coordinator helps ensure the smooth running of the Kettle Campaign in order to maximize donations through the coordination of the schedules of the Kettle volunteers.
Hours:
Temporary, approximately 30+ hours/week in October & November; and then 40 hours per week in December leading up to Christmas Eve. Flexibility with schedule is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Along with the Fundraising Coordinator, plan, organize and direct various aspects of the fundraising campaign
- Attend meetings as necessary
- Along with the Volunteer Coordinator, recruit, train and supervise campaign volunteers
- Promote campaign throughout the community, plan 2021 Kettle Kickoff Event
- Contact schools, churches, service clubs and businesses – recruit volunteers and solicit support
- Foster and maintain positive working relationships with kettle sites, address concerns and issues
- Coordinate schedule for kettle volunteers and respond to emergency absences
- Coordinate day to day operations, including pick up and drop off of kettles/containers
- Prepare accurate reports and forms on the planning and progress of the campaign
- Assist with coordinating donation counters and/or overseeing counting
- Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Enthusiastic team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
- Possess strong leadership, organizational skills and public relation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, able to meet deadlines and cope with stressful situations
- Agreeable to a flexible, non-routine schedule – willing to work long hours including Saturdays
- Possess basic computer knowledge and word processing skills
- Supervision experience is an asset but not required
- Ability & willingness to work within the mission, vision and values of The Salvation Army
PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:
- Current valid British Columbia driver’s license and a reliable vehicle for work-related duties
- Criminal Record Check
