The Community Ministries Christmas Intake Worker position assists in the collection, maintenance, and disbursement of hamper applicant’s information.
- Temporary fixed-term
- Nov 1 – Dec.31, 2021
- 35 hours per week
- Work schedule as assigned by supervisor
The Salvation Army requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and to provide proof of full vaccination. Requests for exemption from the policy due to medical reasons or other grounds protected by provincial human rights legislation will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work in cooperation with the Community Ministries team in planning, organizing, and screening all Christmas applicants
- Provide Front Line support to clients seeking Christmas assistance
- Verify Client Qualifications and personal information provided on applications
- Data Entry (program specific software)
- Provide support with Christmas Hamper and Toy Distribution
- Answer phone inquiries as required
- Notify applications, funders, and other Christmas contacts of information as required (phone skills required)
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Certifications:
- Grade 12
Experience:
- Related working experience is an asset
- Knowledge of typing, filing, and computers (Word, Excel, Outlook, program specific software)
Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:
- Background check consent
- Criminal & Vulnerable sector record checks
- Education verification
- This position requires the successful candidate to have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable drivers abstract. The successful candidate would have to provide proof upon being hired.
PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:

- Related working experience
