Description
This position works for the Thrift Store. You must be able to provide support to Thrift Store Manager. Have organizational skills. Duties will include stocking shelves operating checkout, customer service, warehouse sorting and pricing.
Hours:
- 40 hours per week
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures the safety and security of customers, volunteers and staff
- Takes responsibility for daily and overall safety of self and others
- As an initial point of contact with customers and donors. Represents The Salvation Army effectively by providing courteous and diplomatic service
- Maintains knowledge of legislative and company policies such as Health & Safety Regulations
- The Successful Candidate will be responsible to provide excellent customer service in our Thrift Store
- Stock store shelves in an orderly and organized fashion.
- Provide excellent customer service to our customers and donors
- Undertake other reasonable duties as assigned
- Accept donations and issue temporary receipt as required
- Prices stock according to policy
- Operates Point of Sale Equipment on a regular basis.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- The successful job applicant will have completed High School.
- Must be able to follow instructions both verbally and written
- Must be able to work cooperatively with others
- Be familiar with the Salvation Army Mission Statement
- Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written organizational skills
- Demonstrates ability to work with customers, peers, staff, and volunteers
PHYSICAL EFFORT
- The job requires a large amount of walking, and lifting pushing and pulling of packages up to 50lbs.
Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:
- Background check consent
- A clear vulnerable sector screening
- Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training
