Academic research sales manager, Americas

You will be responsible for growing revenue, increasing market share in your market/territory by supporting existing customers and pursuing new opportunities. With a good technical understanding of our products, you will be able to understand the customer’s needs, provide accurate information, quote, negotiate, and close sales. You will operate in a B2C sales model.

Main responsibilities

Meet/exceed sales targets;

Maximize sales performance by maintaining in-depth company and product knowledge, and by studying consumer needs and identifying how our solutions can meet them;

Generate leads and engage in customer service by building relationships;

Adapt sales techniques based on field interactions and results;

Conduct incisive and insightful market and competitive research;

Generate leads and grow existing relationships, maintaining an accurate and detailed customer database, and developing an active and repeat customer base;

Collaborate with the marketing team to design industry-specific campaigns;

Utilize the CRM tool to ensure standard processes at all stages of the sale;

Conduct product and equipment demonstrations (if not handled by dedicated application engineers);

Prepare quotes and follow up on customer requests;

Provide consultative technical assistance during the sales process for customers, maintaining in-depth technical knowledge of our technologies;

Periodically provide visibility and predictability on revenue pipeline and performance metrics, systematically update the CRM, and diligently document the evolution of opportunities;

Participate in industry conferences and trade shows as needed.

Requirements

University education in mechanical or electrical engineering or another relevant field;

Sales experience in the high-tech and/or robotics field (asset);

Experience in automation sales;

Experience in reviewing customer specifications, preparing bids, and negotiating terms and conditions;

Experience in technical project management (an asset);

Experience in mechanical design (an asset);

Excellent interpersonal (teamwork), leadership, autonomy, and communication skills;

Ability to create and maintain lasting relationships with customers and representatives;

Exceptional customer service skills;

Proficiency in Office Suite and Google software;

Oral and written communication skills;

Bilingualism (French/English);

The ability to travel is required for this position (approximately 20-30 % of the time).
