Description
As a key member of the Healthcare Accounting Team, you will have the opportunity to provide accounting support services to multiple clients. Using your complete understanding of full-cycle accounting, combined with your previous experiences and knowledge, this role will allow you to make a significant difference within Ontario’s healthcare sector.
Primary Responsibilities will include:
- Provide coaching/support for employees of the Client organizations;
- Process/Review Accounts Payable Transactions and authorize payments for release as cash position permits;
- Record all General Journal Entries within accounting software such as: Monthly Revenues, Expenditures, Payroll Accruals, Payroll Allocations, and Balance Sheet Account Adjustments;
- Lead/Review Payroll Process;
- Prepare/Process all Accounts Receivable Transactions including rent-geared-to-income/rate reduction calculations, resident invoicing, and cash receipts entries;
- Process Monthly Electronic Funds Transfers for collections;
- Preparation of Monthly Operating Statements, (including variance analysis and cost savings suggestions);
- Monitor Cash Flow on a regular basis;
- Reconcile Bank Accounts within accounting software;
- Lead the Annual Budgeting Process with the Client’s Management Team, (providing budget tools, templates, support, guidance, consolidation, and review);
- Import the approved annual budget into accounting software;
- Prepare and submit HST Claims for timely reimbursement;
- External/Government Reporting, (Revenue Occupancy Reports, Staffing Reports, Annual Reconciliation Reports, WSIB Reconciliation, EHT Reconciliation, etc.);
- Coordination of Annual Audit, (including Preparation of Working Papers and Assisting Auditors as needed);
- Provide Accounting Recommendations for continuous process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Expertise in using various accounting software, especially MS Excel, is a must;
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written;
- An accounting/bookkeeping/payroll designation is an asset, but not a prerequisite;
- A desire to work in our dynamic team-oriented environment.
