The Alumni Records Coordinator will support the data management portfolio for SFU Beedie’s Alumni, External Relations and Career Management Centre units in both the Blackbaud and Orbis databases, which Beedie School of Business employs to obtain and maintain information of students, alumni, employers, and other stakeholders. The role will maintain record updates in both systems and ensure the accuracy of data entered and updated are integral to the requirements of the systems and operation; maintains the alumni interaction tracking among all Beedie units and ensures that all engagements are updated and provides comprehensive data reports on all major deliverables, including communications and events.

Qualifications:

  • High School graduation and one year of post-secondary education or formal program equivalent with courses in database, spreadsheet, and word processing applications, and office procedures. 3 years of experience. An equivalent combination of formal education, certificate/program of study ad experience is acceptable.
  • Excellent knowledge of CRM systems, such as Blackbaud, Orbis, or Salesforce.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use database, word processing and spread sheet applications (e.g., PeopleSoft, MS Access, Word, Excel) at an intermediate level.
  • Ability to analyse data and metrics and generate visual reports.
  • Ability to provide supervision and training to other individuals in clear and professional manners.
  • Ability to innovatively solve problems and think outside of the box to make recommendations for data strategies.
  • Ability to collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Ability to conduct research using web based and electronic research tools (e.g., Info Direct, Online Phone Directories).
  • Ability to deal effectively in a courteous manner with alumni, faculty, staff and the general public.
  • Ability to exercise mature judgment and initiative, accomplish objectives, set priorities, and establish procedures.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
