Description:
The Department of Medical Imaging, Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, in affiliation with Sinai Health Systems, the University Health Network and Women’s College Hospital, is recruiting a Full-time Radiologist for the Cardiothoracic Division. The successful candidate must currently hold or be eligible for a University of Toronto full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The anticipated start date is June 1, 2021, as mutually agreed upon.

The Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI) operates across the University Health Net-work Hospitals (Toronto General Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, and Toronto Rehabilitation Institute), Sinai Health System, and Women’s College Hospital. The Department’s clinical services span a broad spectrum of diagnostic and interventional procedures in the fields of cardiopulmonary transplantation, airways and asthma, pulmonary hypertension and chronic pulmonary embolism, interstitial lung diseases, oncology, acquired and congenital cardiac diseases, etc. Trauma imaging is not part of routine clinical activities.

JDMI operates an install base of 19 CT and 12 MRI scanners (including dedicated research scanners), 97 X-ray and 25 ultrasound units, two PET-CT scanners, and one PET MRI scanner. Cardiothoracic radiologists interpret per annum about 128,000 chest radiographs, 57,000 chest CTs, 260 chest MRs, 6,300 cardiac imaging studies, and perform more than 720 interventions in the chest. The successful candidate will join a team of 19 Faculty and seven clinical fellows in the Cardiothoracic Division.

Candidates must hold an MD or equivalent degree, be a board-certified, fellowship-trained cardiothoracic radiologist, or have equivalent training with a strong clinical background in thoracic imaging. Experience with chest MRI is an asset. A firm interest and previous engagement in research and teaching are expected. The successful applicant must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario. Compensation will be in accordance with the uniform average salary of a Radiologist in the Province of Ontario. The academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
