Audio Visual Technician

D U T I E S

The Centre for Learning and Program Excellence (CLPE) supports teaching and learning

excellence at Red River College. The CLPE is hiring 2 Audio Visual Technicians. Reporting to the

Manager, Learning Technologies and Educational Development in the CLPE and supervised by

the Supervisor of Audio Visual Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for sharing

the execution of day-to-day service operations of Audio Visual Services. There are two positions

that are available: one starting July 1st will support AV in RRC’s new Innovation Centre and the

College’s other Exchange District campuses, and the second starting September 1st will more

generally be responsible for repairs, maintenance, troubleshooting and installation of AV

equipment in classrooms and boardrooms at all campuses across Manitoba. Audio Visual

Technicians will ensure proper operation of AV equipment to minimize the interruption of learning

activities and College business, and they will install AV equipment to best enhance College

learning and communications.

R E Q U I R E D Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S

  • One year College certificate in a field related to electrical systems, IT/Networking or Media

Technology. Extensive equivalent experience may also be considered.

  • Experience working in the Audio Visual industry supporting and installing AV equipment
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to take initiative, work efficiently, and prioritize tasks while exercising reasonable

judgment in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

  • Excellent verbal communication skills

A S S E T S

  • Experience with installing, configuring and programming Crestron, QSC and Mersive

equipment

  • Experience installing and terminating communications cable
  • Manitoba Class M Voice, Data, Video cable installer limited electrician’s license
  • Avixa certification (CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D)
  • Experience working in an academic environment
